Society Director
Alternate Society Director
A. Election and Term
The Voting Members of the Dallas Society shall elect a Society Director every third year, at the Society Annual Meeting, who shall be a Full Member of the Dallas Society, and serve as its Society Director for a three-year term, beginning at the close of the Federation Annual Meeting of the year in which he is elected. He shall be placed in nomination by the Nominating Committee or by any Voting Member.
In addition, the Voting Members of the Dallas Society shall also elect an alternate Director to serve in event the duly elected Director is unable to attend any meetings of the Council or any Annual Meeting of the Federation Membership.
B. Duties
The duties of the Society Director (and the duties of the Alternate Society Director in his absence) shall be:
1. To serve as a member of the Federation Council.
2. To elect officers of the Federation as prescribed in these By-Laws.
3. To represent the Dallas Society at the business session of the Federation during the Annual Meeting.
4. To vote on petitions for new Society charters and changes in Society boundaries.
5. To vote on proposals to amend the Constitution of the Federation and/or
6. To vote to approve or not to approve the actions of the Board of Directors with respect to Standing Rules.
7. In the event of a vacancy of the Society Director’s position, including vacancies resulting from death, resignation, removal, or ceasing to be a Full Member when required, the Alternate Society Director shall be appointed as Society Director for the remainder of the Director’s term.
